ROMEOVILLE, IL.— The 9th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team held off a second half run by Lewis University to win 82-68 Thursday evening in Romeoville, Illinois. USI raises its record to 19-2 overall and 8-2 GLVC, while Lewis falls to 10-8, 5-5 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles controlled much of the first half, leading by as many as 12 points, 25-13, with 12:27. The Flyers cut the lead to four points, 37-34, before the Eagles settled for the 47-38 halftime margin.
In the second half, Lewis used a 13-4 run to cut the USI lead to one point, 55-54, with 13:13 left. The Flyer would close to within one point a second time, 59-58, halfway through the final half before the Eagles regained control of the game. USI used a 7-1 run to re-exert control and extended the margin to 14 points and the 82-68 final.

Melvin Hall (Evansville, Indiana) led the five Eagles scoring in double figures with 16 points. Senior centerÂ

Kenny Page (Indianapolis, Indiana) followed Hall with 12 points each, while senior forwardsÂ

Geoff Van Winkle (Ferdinand, Indiana) had 11 points and 10 points, respectively off the bench.
Sullivan also had a game-high 13 rebounds to complete his third double-double of the year. The Eagles out rebounded the Flyers overall, 43-28.
The Eagles conclude the road trip in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Saturday against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Rangers raised its record to 14-7 overall and 5-5 in the GLVC after defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College, 73-72, in Kenosha.
