EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team had opportunities, but in the end, the Screaming Eagles wound up on the wrong end of a 2-1 affair with Drury University Friday evening at Strassweg Field.

USI (1-3, 0-3 GLVC) fell behind by a pair of goals before senior back Brian Shepherd (St. Louis, Missouri) cut the Panthers' advantage in half when his penalty kick found the back of the net in the 74th minute of the contest. The penalty kick was a result of a foul in the box, which also resulted in one of a combined 10 yellow cards that was issued to both teams.

The Screaming Eagles had a chance to tie the contest in the final five minutes, but sophomore forward Anthony Foerster's (Ferdinand, Indiana) shot from 15 yards out could not get by Drury goalkeeper Michael Lassen, who finished with four saves.

USI got five saves out of sophomore keeper Jake Bryan (Portage, Indiana), but Drury goals in the fifth and 70th minutes of the game were all the Panthers would need to remain perfect at 4-0-2 (1-0-0 GLVC).

The Eagles return to action Sunday when they host Rockhurst University (2-2-1, 1-0-0 GLVC) in a men's and women's doubleheader. Kickoff is slated for noon.
