KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team could not hold onto a 1-0 lead and eventually fell 4-1 Sunday afternoon to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin. USI falls to 1-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 GLVC, while UW-Parkside goes to 4-0-0, 2-0-0 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles took the early 1-0 lead on a goal by sophomore forward
Mike Bendzen (Evansville, Indiana). The goal was the first of the year for Bendzen.
Beginning at the 23:09 mark, the Rangers followed with three goals in a six minute span to tie the game and take the lead for good. UW-Parkside would add another goal two minutes into the second half for a final score of 4-1.
The Eagles return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field September 8 for the home opener against Drury University at 5 p.m.. The match with Drury begins a four-match homestand for the Eagles.
