EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team gave up a pair of goals late in losing to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 3-1, Friday evening at Strassweg Field. USI falls to 4-8-0 overall and 2-6-0 GLVC, while SIUE goes to 6-4-2, 4-3-2 GLVC.

Katie Teagarden (Speedway, Indiana) sent the teams into the locker room tied, 1-1, with her first goal of the year and as a collegiate at 39:36. The goal was unassisted.
In the second half, SIUE applied the pressure to the USI defense for 38 minutes before Cougar forward Jenny Kates gave it a 2-1 advantage at 83:12. Kates would seal the victory two minutes later at 85:17 when she posted her second goal of the game by heading in a corner kick to make the score 3-1.
SIUE out shot USI, 16-5, and had a 7-0 lead in corner kicks.
The Eagles will try to get back on track Sunday when they host the ninth-ranked Hawks of Quincy University. The Hawk raised their record to a perfect 11-0 -0 overall and 8-0-0 in the GLVC after defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College, 5-2, Friday afternoon.
