EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team gets a break from GLVC play this weekend when it travels to Alabama to start a six-match road swing, the longest of the season for the Screaming Eagles.

USI (10-5, 4-3 GLVC) starts the trip Thursday at 7p.m. with a match at No. 20 University of North Alabama. The Eagles also play the University of West Georgia Friday at 7 p.m. in Florence, Alabama, before taking on the University of Alabama-Huntsville in Huntsville, Alabama.

Senior outside hitter Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) has been a key factor for the Eagles this season. Doubler is second in the GLVC in points per game (4.92), third in kills per game (3.98 kpg), and 10th in attacking percentage (.316) and service aces per game (0.46 sapg). She has averaged 4.39 kpg and a .351 attacking percentage since the second weekend of the season,

The Eagles also have been getting solid performances out of junior middle blocker Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana). Rahman, who is averaging 2.95 kpg, is third in the GLVC with a .359 attacking percentage and is tied for eighth in blocks per game (1.00 bpg).

Senior outside hitter Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) also has been a go-to player for the Eagles. Ryan is fourth in the conference with 3.90 kpg and tied with junior libero Cara Keever (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) for second in sapg (0.57). Ryan also is third in points (4.77 ppg).

Another option for the Eagles is freshman outside hitter Courtney Bealor (LaPorte, Indiana). Bealor has been solid for the Eagles, averaging more than two kills per game and attacking at nearly a .300 clip.

Junior setter Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana) has set USI's offense to a .222 attacking percentage and is third in the league with 11.65 assists per game.

Defensively, Keever is 10th in the GLVC in digs per game (3.57), while senior right side hitter Amanda Probst (Wheeler, Illinois) is closing in on the all-time record for career digs at USI. Probst, who is third on the team with 2.57 dpg, needs 25 digs to surpass Shannon Wells for first-place all-time at USI.
