Audra Lindenschmidt (Evansville, Indiana) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week after leading the Screaming Eagles to a 3-1 record this past weekend at the Great Lakes Regional Shootout in Wheeling West Virginia.
USI (17-12) defeated West Liberty State (5-2), Wheeling Jesuit University (8-3), and West Virginia Wesleyan College (7-6) after falling to Gannon University (4-2) to open the weekend.
In the 7-6 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan, Lindenschmidt scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Eagles to their third straight win. She was 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI in that contest.
For the week, Lindenschmidt batted .533 with a home run, a double, three runs scored, and six runs batted in. She recorded a RBI in every one of the Eagles' four games, including three against Wheeling Jesuit.
For the season, Lindenschmidt leads the Eagles with a .379 batting average and 26 RBIs.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday when they host Brescia University in a 3 p.m. doubleheader. They return to GLVC action Saturday when they visit Bellarmine University.
