COLUMBUS, Ind.– The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team placed fourth in the GLVC Championships at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana. The Screaming Eagles posted a three-round 901 (305-298-298), 27 shots off the leader and six shots out of third place.
Northern Kentucky University won the conference championship with a 36-hole 874 (287-293-294).
Individually, USI was led by sophomore
Nick Frazer (Evansville, Indiana). Frazer placed 14th by recording a 223 (77-74-72) during the two days of tournament play. NKU's David Shearer won the individual title with a 36-hole 209 (68-72-69).
Frazer was followed by sophomore
Ted O'Brien (Santa Claus, Indiana), who shot a 224 (75-73-76) to tie for 15th, and freshman
Drew Dunkerly (Linton, Indiana), who shot a 229 (77-79-73) to tie for 23rd.
USI resumes action Friday in the second NCAA II Great Lakes Spring Tournament. The tournament will be played Friday and Saturday at Timbergate Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana.
