KISSIMMEE, Fla.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team pushed its winning streak to four games with an 11-2 victory over Philadelphia University and a 3-0 victory over Saint Cloud State University Tuesday at the Division II Rebel Spring Games.
USI (7-6) has won seven of its last eight games to get above the .500-mark for the first time this season.
The Screaming Eagles continue the Rebel Spring Games Thursday with Dowling College at 9:40 a.m. (CST) and Ashland University at 1:20 p.m.
Southern Indiana 11, Philadelphia (1-4) 2
USI exploded for runs in the first, second, fifth, and seventh innings to blow past the Philadelphia Rams, 11-2. Sophomore third baseman
Kristin Eickholt (Van Wert, Ohio) led the Eagles with a 3-for-5 performance that included two doubles, a triple, and three runs batted in. Senior hurler
Missy Grover (Mishawaka, Indiana) picked up her second straight win to improve to 3-4 on the season after giving up just two runs off four hits in seven innings of work.
The Eagles also got RBIs from junior second baseman
Audra Lindenschmidt (Evansville, Indiana), freshman outfielder
Ally McKinley (Sullivan, Indiana), and freshman utility player
Lacey Ligmanowski (Homer Glen, Illinois).

The Eagles' smashed out three runs off four hits and an error in the first inning to give senior pitcher
Lindsey McNaughton (Carmel, Indiana) all the support she would need to pick up her fourth straight victory and second straight shutout.
McNaughton (4-2) allowed just three hits as the Eagles won for the fourth straight game and the seventh time in eight outings.
Lindenschmidt, who was 2-for-3 from the plate, started the offensive onslaught in the first inning when she singled to drive in Ligmanowski. Senior catcher
Angie Davis (Greenwood, Indiana) followed with a single to drive in sophomore outfielder/pitcher
Kathy Wood (Lynnville, Indiana), while junior outfielder/pitcher
Nikki Nichols (Henderson, Kentucky) drove in Lindenschmidt with a single later in the inning. Nichols was 3-for-3 from the plate in the victory.
