EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team is looking for its first win of 2006 when it travels to Owensboro, Kentucky, to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College in non-conference doubleheader. The first pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
USI (0-5) had a rough start to the season, dropping all five games by a combined run count of 43-6. KWC (3-3) is looking to rebound from a pair of losses to Georgetown College (Ky.) this past Sunday.
The Screaming Eagles swept the Panthers, 5-0, last season and have won 28 straight games against KWC dating back to the 1997 season. USI leads the all-time series with the Panthers since 1990, 38-17.
Following the trip to Owensboro, the Eagles will travel to Florence, Alabama, to take on the University of North Alabama in a doubleheader Saturday at 10 a.m. USI starts the Division II Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Florida, Monday at 7:50 a.m. (CST) against Ferris State University.
