Eagles look to get first win against familiar foe

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team is looking for its first win of 2006 when it travels to Owensboro, Kentucky, to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College in non-conference doubleheader. The first pitch is slated for 2 p.m.

USI (0-5) had a rough start to the season, dropping all five games by a combined run count of 43-6. KWC (3-3) is looking to rebound from a pair of losses to Georgetown College (Ky.) this past Sunday.

The Screaming Eagles swept the Panthers, 5-0, last season and have won 28 straight games against KWC dating back to the 1997 season. USI leads the all-time series with the Panthers since 1990, 38-17.

Following the trip to Owensboro, the Eagles will travel to Florence, Alabama, to take on the University of North Alabama in a doubleheader Saturday at 10 a.m. USI starts the Division II Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Florida, Monday at 7:50 a.m. (CST) against Ferris State University.
