DECATUR, Ala.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team saw its record fall to 0-5 Saturday as it lost to No. 4-ranked University of Alabama-Huntsville, 9-1, in six innings, and No. 12-ranked Emporia State University, 8-0, in six innings.
Freshman utility player
Lacey Ligmanowski (Homer Glen, Illinois) produced USI's lone run of the day with a solo home run, the first of her collegiate career, in the bottom of the sixth inning against Alabama-Huntsville.
Senior hurler
Lindsey McNaughton (Carmel, Indiana) was charged with the loss in the first game after giving up six runs off seven hits and three walks in 4 1/3 innings of work against Alabama-Huntsville (10-2) while senior pitcher
Missy Grover (Mishawaka, Indiana) was charged with the loss in the second game after giving up eight runs in five-plus innings of work against Emporia State (16-1). Grover falls to 0-3 on the season, while McNaughton slips to 0-2.
The Eagles return to action Wednesday when they travel to Owensboro, Kentucky, to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
