Box Score

ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Southern Indiana senior guard Melvin Hall (Evansville, Indiana) and sophomore forward Mike Kalicak (St. Charles, Missouri) scored 17 points each to lead the Eagles to a 101-72 victory over Pace University Saturday evening in the Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic. USI raises its record 2-0 for the second straight year and third time in four years, while Pace remains winless at 0-2.

After the Setters scored the opening bucket, Hall gave the Eagles the lead for good with the first of his five three-point bombs. The senior guard would finish the night shooting six-of-12 from the field and five-of-11 from long range.

Hall continues to have the hot hand in Disney's Milk House, averaging 15 points in his five Tip-Off Classic appearances the last two years.

Kalicak scored all of his 17 points in the second half to post a career-high, including a spectacular dunk off a rebound to make the score 77-54 with 9:56 to play.

Hall and Kalicak were joined in double-figure scoring by four other Eagles. Senior center Rashard Sullivan (Miami, Florida) continued to impress with a 15-point and eight-rebound performance, while senior forward Nick Brooks (Robinson, Illinois) got on track with 12 points in the win.

Senior forward Marty Wise (New Orleans, Louisiana) posted his second straight double-double and the fourth of his USI career with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Kenny Page (Indianapolis, Indiana) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.

The Eagles outscored the Setters 52-36 in the first half and 49-36 in the second, while outrebounding them 50-21 for the game.

The victory puts USI in the championship game of the Group Power pool of the classic against the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Sunday at 3:30 p.m. (CST).

The Nanooks advanced to meet the Screaming Eagles in the championship game by defeating Pace Friday evening, 96-91, and North Georgia College and State University Saturday afternoon, 79-76.

The first home game for the Eagles at the newly renovated Physical Activities Center will be November 15 when Wayne State University comes to Evansville for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
