ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team won its second straight Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic and its third overall with a 94-73 victory over the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Sunday evening in Orlando, Florida. USI completes tournament action with a 3-0 record, while UAF goes to 4-1.

USI's championship in the Group Power pool completed a GLVC sweep as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside also was 3-0 and won the Group Strength title.

The Screaming Eagles started sluggish in the third game in three days before exploding for a 16-0 run to lead 37-16 with 5:33 to play in the first half. The Eagles would extend the 21-point margin to 24 by the intermission and go into the locker room with a 54-30 lead.

In the second half, USI continued to apply the offensive and defensive pressure to UAF and would extend the lead to as many as 30-points, 72-42, with 12:19 to play.

USI was led by senior guard Melvin Hall (Evansville, Indiana), who had a team-high 19 points and five three-point field goals. Hall was followed in double figures by senior forward Marty Wise (New Orleans, Louisiana) and junior guard Kenny Love (South Bend, Indiana) with 16 points each. Senior forward Geoff Van Winkle (Ferdinand, Indiana) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.

USI senior center Rashard Sullivan (Miami, Florida) was named the co-Most Outstanding Player of Group Power with UAF's Jushay Rockett. Sullivan averaged 13.3 points during the tournament, including a 19-point performance against North Georgia College and State University on Friday.

Sullivan was joined on the All-Tournament team by Hall and Wise.
