EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team returns to GLVC play Friday when it travels to Louisville, Kentucky, to take on Bellarmine University at 6 p.m. (CDT). The Screaming Eagles continue their road trip Saturday when they visit Northern Kentucky University for a 1 p.m. (CDT) match in Highland Heights, Kentucky.

USI (12-6, 4-3 GLVC) is looking to climb in the league standings after a break from league play. The Eagles are currently in sixth in the conference, two wins back of Northern Kentucky (12-9, 6-3 GLVC). Bellarmine (8-7, 4-4 GLVC) is a half-game back of the Eagles in seventh.

Friday's match with Bellarmine pits the Eagles against Chelsea Biblehauser, who leads the GLVC with 4.83 kills per game (kpg).

The Eagles also have significant fire power, especially from the outside where senior outside hitters Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) and Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) rank in the top five of the GLVC in kills. Doubler is third with 3.83 kpg, while Ryan is fifth with 3.68 kpg. Doubler needs just 47 kills to become the ninth player in school history to amass 1,000 career kills.

Saturday's match, which can be listened to by logging onto www.usi.edu/sports, pits the Eagles against the GLVC's most consistent attack in Northern Kentucky, which leads the league with a .265 team attacking percentage.

USI, which is third in the league with 2.61 blocks per game, needs to have a strong presence at the net to counteract the Norse's explosive attack. Freshman middle blocker Ashley Henricks (Greenwood, Indiana) is second in the conference with 1.35 bpg, while junior middle blocker Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) is seventh with 1.02 bpg and third in the GLVC with a team-best .344 attacking percentage.

The Eagles conclude their six-match road swing with a trip to Owensboro, Kentucky, to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College Tuesday at 7 p.m.
