EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Northern Kentucky University's Chris Thompson scored a goal in the 63rd minute of the match to help the No. 16 Norse defeat the University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team, 1-0, Friday evening at Strassweg Field.
USI (2-11-2, 1-9-2 GLVC) recorded five shots on goal, 12 overall, while the Norse had 15 shots and six on goal. The Screaming Eagles missed a great chance to take a 1-0 lead when senior midfielder
Brian Shepherd (St. Louis, Missouri) missed a penalty kick in the 60th minute of the second half.
NKU (11-2-2, 8-2-2 GLVC) also missed a penalty kick in the first half when Mirza Causevic shot sailed wide left of the goal.

Jake Bryan (Portage, Indiana) led USI's defense with five saves, while the NKU's Andy Ortman led the Norse with six saves.
