HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team completed its second GLVC road trip of the year by flying by Northern Kentucky University, 75-56, Saturday afternoon in Highland Heights, Kentucky. USI has won nine straight and raises its record to 16-1 overall and 5-1 in the GLVC, while NKU falls to 9-4, 4-1 GLVC.

The Screaming Eagles scored the first nine points of the first and second halves to lead the game from start to finish. USI would lead by as many as 15 points during the first half on four different occasions and by a game-high 26 points late in the second half.

The Eagles continued to feature red-hot shooting, dropping in 53.3 percent of its shots (24-45). The squad has shot of over 50 percent in seven straight games, including one over 60 percent and one over 70 percents.

Individually, USI was led by senior forward Chris Thompson (Starke, Florida). Thompson recorded his seventh double-double of the year by scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He was followed in the scoring column by senior guard David Bryant (Louisville, Kentucky), who scored 12 points off the bench.

Thompson also led the Eagles for the week, averaging 19.0 ppg and shooting a blistering 81.8 percent from the field (18-22) and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe (20-24) in the wins over Oakland City University, Bellarmine University, and NKU.

USI resumes GLVC action at the Physical Activities Center Thursday when it hosts Quincy University to begin a two-game homestand. Game time Thursday is 7:30 p.m.
