CAMBY, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team placed both eighth and ninth at the Indianapolis Invitational at The Links at Heartland Crossing in Camby, Indiana. The Screaming Eagles finished eighth, while the USI "Team B" finished ninth.
The eighth place USI squad shot a 319, 27 strokes behind Kentucky Wesleyan College which won the tournament with a 292. USI "Team B" was two strokes behind in ninth place with a 321.
Senior
Matt Fonner (Champaign, Illinois) led the Screaming Eagles with a 76 to finish tied for 19th individuall. USI "Team B" was led by senior
Mike Hieder (Anderson, Indiana) who shot a 78 and tied for 29th.
The Eagles will resume action September 11-12 at the Northern Kentucky Invitational.
