OWENSBORO, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team rose back above the .500 mark in the GLVC with a 3-0 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan College Wednesday afternoon in Owensboro, Kentucky. USI is 5-5-0 overall and 4-3-0 in the GLVC, while KWC falls to 1-8-0, 0-7-0 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles struck for their first goal early in the match when sophomore forward
Julie Collins (Merrillville, Indiana) scored her seventh of the season. Collins scored 5:21 into the match off a long kick by sophomore goalkeeper
Meagan Homolla (Portage, Indiana).
The assist was Homolla's first collegiate point at USI.
After the intermission, USI increased its lead to 2-0 on goal by sophomore forward
Katie Grossman (Evansville, Indiana) at the 58:43 mark. Grossman scored her second goal of the year off a cross from sophomore midfielder
Jessica Stawick (Indianapolis, Indiana).

Alisann Shetler (Evansville, Indiana) finished the scoring for the Eagles at 69:40 with her second goal of 2005. Shetler put away the rebound of her own shot after taking a cross from junior midfielder

Casey Hrvatin (Evansville, Indiana) combined for the team's third shutout of the season. Homolla made a save in each half and faced four shots.
The Eagles return to action this weekend when they host a pair of GLVC doubleheaders at Strassweg Field. USI host the University of Indianapolis Friday at 5 p.m. and Saint Joseph's College Sunday at noon.
