SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—Sophomore setter 
Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana) recorded her 2,000th career assist as University of Southern Indiana volleyball team defeated Drury University 30-18, 30-25, 28-30, 30-25 Friday night in its Great Lakes Valley Conference opener.
Wilson, who ranks fourth all-time at USI with 2,048 career assists, finished the match with 53 assists while leading the Screaming Eagles to a .229 attacking percentage. She also recorded 10 digs and three blocks in the victory.
USI (7-6, 1-0 GLVC), which has won nine consecutive GLVC openers, got 15 kills and a .400 attacking percentage from freshman middle blocker 
Meg Buschman (Reynolds, Indiana) as well as 14 kills and a .324 attacking percentage from junior outside hitter 
Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana).
Junior outside hitter 
Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) led the Eagles with 19 kills, while senior middle blocker 
Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) chipped in 12 kills, four service aces, 13 digs, and a match-high tying six blocks. Sophomore middle blocker 
Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) also finished the contest with six blocks.
Defensively, freshman libero 
Amber Gogel (Ferdinand, Indiana) recorded a match-high 22 digs, while junior defensive specialist 
Amanda Probst (Wheeler, Illinois) finished with 11 digs. USI held Drury (3-9, 0-1 GLVC) to a .192 attacking percentage in the four-game match.
USI's win sets up a showdown with No. 21 Rockhurst University Saturday at 2 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri. Rockhurst (10-1, 1-0 GLVC) is coming off a 3-1 victory over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Friday night.
