Weather forces USI softball to make changes

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Mother Nature has forced the University of Southern Indiana softball team to change its schedule this week.

USI's doubleheader with McKendree College, schedule for this afternoon at the USI Softball Field, has been postponed to April 11 at 3 p.m., while the Great Lakes Region Showdown, scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Battle Creek, Michigan has been cancelled.

The Screaming Eagles have replaced the Great Lakes Regional Showdown with a four-team invitational on Friday and Saturday at the USI Softball Field. In addition to USI, Kentucky Wesleyan College, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and Ashland University will participate.

KWC will take on Ashland in the first game Friday, while USI and KWC will square off in the second game. SIUE and Ashland will play the third game, while USI and SIUE will go head-to-head in the final game on Friday. Game times are 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m., respectively.

USI and Ashland will play a doubleheader Saturday with the first pitch slated for 11 a.m.

Kentucky Wesleyan vs. Ashland, 11 a.m.
Kentucky Wesleyan at Southern Indiana, 1 p.m.
Ashland vs. SIU Edwardsville, 3 p.m.
SIU Edwardsville at Southern Indiana, 5 p.m.

Saturday, March 26
Ashland at Southern Indiana (DH), 11 a.m.
