EVANSVILLE, IN– The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team could not hold onto a first half lead, falling to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 2-1, Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. The Screaming Eagles fall to 1-7-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the GLVC, while SIUE goes to 4-3-0, 2-0-0 GLVC.

Lisa Stucki (Evansville, Indiana) gave USI a 1-0 lead on her first goal of the year. She was assisted on the play by junior midfielder
Brooklyn Gant (Evansville, Indiana), who dished out her team-best third assist of the season.
The Eagles' 1-0 lead held up until the 50:30 mark of the second half when SIUE forward Ann Crawford scored her first goals of the game off a pass from Cougar forward/midfielder Kristine Armstrong. Crawford scored the unassisted game-winner four minutes later at 54:25.
The Eagles out shot the Cougars 8-5 after not allowing a shot in the first half.
USI resumes GLVC action at Strassweg field Friday, September 24, when it hosts Kentucky Wesleyan College for a conference doubleheader. The men's game kicks-off at 5 p.m., while the women's game begins at 7:30 p.m.
