The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team finished third in the GLVC Tournament after it was called due to weather following the completion of 36 holes at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana. The league tournament was originally scheduled for of the scheduled 54 holes.
The Screaming Eagles finished their second round on Tuesday, moving past the University of Indianapolis and into third place. The Greyhounds led the Eagles by a stroke after 27 holes, but the USI squad out shot Indianapolis by eight shots in the final nine holes to take third.
Bellarmine University won the league championship with two-round 612 (303-309). The medalist was Jason Buffone of Lewis University. He shot a two-round 148 (74-74).
USI seniorÂ
Nathan Wolfe (Henderson, Kentucky) and juniorÂ
Christian Farley (Henderson, Kentucky) led the team, shooting 155 each to tie for eighth. Wolfe, who was tied for 10th after first 27 holes, shot 73-82, while Farley, who was tied for 12th after a round-and-a-half, shot 77-78.
FreshmanÂ
Adam Bolerjack (Carmi, Illinois) also finished in the top 15 for USI by shooting a 157 (80-77).
USI will conclude the regular season part of the schedule Sunday and Monday, April 18-19, when they play in the third of three NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Tournaments. The regional tournaments are used to help determine who will advance to the NCAA II Super-Regional Monday through Wednesday, April 3-5.
In the first two regional tournaments, the Eagles were 17th at Blackberry Patch Golf Course in Michigan and seventh at the Rough River Dam State Park Golf Course in Kentucky.
