Eagles dropped by #8 Rangers

KENOSHA, WI – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team continued to struggle on the road, falling 3-0 to #8 University of Wisconsin-Parkside Sunday afternoon in Kenosha, Wisconsin. USI falls to 5-11-0 overall and 3-6-0 in the GLVC, while UWP goes to 14-1-0 overall, 8-1-0 GLVC.

UWP led 1-0 at halftime and sealed the victory with a pair of goals in the second half. Ranger midfielder Lindsey Giffitts had the first and second goals of the game to lead UWP.

Despite the loss, the Eagles are still in contention for the sixth and final spot in the GLVC Tournament. USI is a tie behind the University of Missouri-St. Louis, who is 3-5-1 in the GLVC after losing 3-2 to Lewis University, and the University of Indianapolis, who is 3-5-1 in the league after losing 3-1 to Bellarmine University on Sunday.

To earn a berth in the tournament, the Eagles must defeat UMSL in St. Louis and Indianapolis must loose to UWP on October 23, the final day of the GLVC schedule.

Following USI match at UMSL on Saturday, the final regular season game for the Eagles will be October 26 at Oakland City University.
