ROMEOVILLE, IL – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team continued to struggle on the road, losing 3-2 to Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, Friday afternoon. USI falls to 5-10-0 overall and 3-5-0 in the GLVC, while Lewis raises its record to 3-10-1 overall, 1-6-1 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles are 4-4-0 at Strassweg Field in 2004, but just 1-6-0 on the road.
Down 1-0 after the Flyers scored 6:26 into the match, the Eagles scored a pair of unanswered goals to take a 2-1 lead into the locker room at halftime. Freshman midfielder
Katie Barisano (Newburgh, Indiana) tied the game for USI with her second goal of the year 12:27 into the first half.

Junior forward
Alisann Shetler (Evansville, Indiana) gave USI a 2-1 lead at the 33:48 mark, scoring off of a pass from sophomore midfielder
Kara Marcum (Evansville, Indiana). The goal was Shetler's third of the year.
Late in the second half, Lewis freshman back Allison Wilkerson and freshman midfielder Katie Burke struck back for the Flyers. Wilkerson tied the match off a corner kick struck by Burke at the 79:28 mark, while Burke gave Lewis the lead for good at the 87:44 mark off a long pass from Wilkerson.
The Eagles will conclude the first half of the season-ending road trip when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for a 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon match. USI plays its final GLVC regular season match October 23 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
