EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team extended its season-long winning streak to six matches Friday as it defeated Bellarmine University 30-23, 30-19, 30-15 at the Physical Activities Center.
Sophomore outside hitter
Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with a match-high 10 kills and a .444 attacking percentage, while sophomore outside hitter/libero
Amanda Probst (Wheeler, Illinois) had a match-high 11 digs.
USI (12-4 overall, 6-0 GLVC) recorded a .363 attacking percentage and held the Knights (2-8 overall, 1-4 GLVC) to a .087 team attacking percentage. The Eagles had 14 blocks as a team, with senior middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) recording a match-high three solo blocks.
Freshman setter
Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana) had a team-high 28 assists.
The Eagles return to action October 8 when they travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to take on the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. They will play Lewis University in Romeoville on October 9.
USI's match against the University of North Alabama, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed due to rescheduling conflicts that UNA had because of Hurricane Ivan. A make-up date is to be determined.
