The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit Saturday to defeat the University of Findlay in five games Saturday afternoon at the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge in Findlay, Ohio.
USI (6-2) lost the first two games, 30-22 and 30-19, before winning game three and four 30-23 and 30-23. The Screaming Eagles hit a team-high .273 in the fifth and deciding game to take the match 3-2.
Earlier in the day, Northwood University defeated the Eagles 32-30, 30-22, 26-30, 30-21. The Eagles had 12 reception errors and seven ball handling errors as they lost for the second straight match.
Junior middle hitter
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) led the Eagles Saturday with 23 kills and a .229 attacking percentage. Senior setter
Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished the day with 75 assists and a team-leading 27 digs.
The Eagles will return to action next Friday and Saturday, September 12-13, to partake in the Great Lakes Region Crossover in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
