The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team suffered a tough defeat at the hands of Saint Joseph's College, 3-1, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Sunday afternoon.
The USI women's team had tough luck Sunday afternoon, allowing two of the three SJC goals on penalty kicks. The Screaming Eagles fall to 4-5-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the GLVC, while the Pumas go to 3-6-1 overall, 2-2-0 GLVC.
The bright spot for the Eagles was their lone goal by senior forward
Aisha Earle-Smith (Spring, Texas). The goal, which gave USI a 1-0 lead just 6:27 into the match, was the sixth of the season for Earle-Smith.
Both USI soccer teams resume action Friday, October 3, when they return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field to host Bellarmine University for a GLVC doubleheader. Match times are 5 p.m. for the women's match and 7:30 p.m. for the men's.
