Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) and junior middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) recorded 17 and 14 kills, respectively, to lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Saint Joseph's College Friday night in its home-opener at the Physical Activities Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Ellerbusch recorded a match-high .625 attacking percentage and 7 blocks while Gross finished with a .440 hitting percentage and a match-high 13 digs.
The Eagles (12-13, 2-1 GLVC) took the first game 30-23 before battling back to take the second game 30-28. USI finished the match by recording a .577 attacking percentage in the final game, a game USI won 30-17.
Senior setter
Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished with a match-high 32 assists.
USI will wrap up the weekend's action with the University of Indianapolis tomorrow afternoon. Match time is slated for a 2 p.m. start at the PAC.
