The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team could not overcome a 3-0 deficit, falling 4-2 to the University of Evansville in Mayor's Cup exhibition game on Black Beauty Field at Arad McCutchan Stadium Wednesday night. USI will conclude the exhibition schedule Saturday, August 23, when the Screaming Eagles host Mid-Continent College for a 2 p.m. match.
The Evansville Aces scored twice in the first half and struck for a third time early in the second to build a 3-0 lead before the Eagles could get onto the board. USI freshman forward
Neil Peluchette (Evansvillle, Indiana) scored an unassisted goal at the 60:59 mark to make the score 3-1.

Brian Peroutka (St. Louis, Missouri) headed in a cross from senior midfielder
Duncan Bray (Scotland) make the score 3-2. The Aces put the game away with a goal at the 78:14 mark for the final score of 4-2.
This was the first exhibition game between the two schools located in Evansville, Indiana, since 1987.
After USI concludes its exhibition schedule on Saturday, the squad will open the regular season on the road at McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois, Sunday, August 31. The first regular season home match for the Eagles will be Sunday, September 7, when Spalding University visits Strassweg Field for a 1 p.m. match.
