The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team extended its home winning streak to 25 games with a 116-72 victory over the University of Illinois-Springfield Thursday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI raises its overall record to 16-4, while UIS falls to 9-17 in its inaugural season.

The 22nd-ranked Screaming Eagles hit the first bucket of the game and never trailed as it built an 18-point lead by halftime. In the second half, the Eagles built the lead to as many as 47 points before settling for a 116-72 win.

The win also extends the USI streak of 21 straight victories over teams from the NAIA. The 116-points marked the fourth time this year that the Eagles have topped the century mark.

After three straight games under double-digits in scoring, senior forward Diond're Givens (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) exploded for 26 points. He was 12-of-18 from the field and grabbed six boards.

USI junior forward Billy Harris (Carbondale, Illinois) continued his consistent play at center, dropping in 16 points, while junior forward Clarence Chillers (Chicago, Illinois) and sophomore forward Dennis Coutee (Jeffersonville, Indiana) recorded 14 points and 10 points, respectively.

Chillers also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, his second double-double of the year.

USI will resume GLVC action Saturday, February 8, when Kentucky Wesleyan College visits the PAC for a men's and women's doubleheader. Game time next Saturday is 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. There are less than 30 tickets remaining for Saturday's game.
