Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded her 4,800th career assist to lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 30-22, 30-23, 30-19 victory over Brescia University Monday night at the Physical Activities Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Boehmer recorded a match-high 42 assists and 10 digs as the Screaming Eagles improved to 14-5 on the season. Offensively, the Eagles recorded a .298 team attacking percentage.
Junior middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) recorded a match-high 12 kills while sophomore middle hitter
Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) chipped in with 11 kills. Gross needs just 14 kills to reach her 1,000th career kill.
The Eagles will return to action this Friday, October 10, when they travel to Romeoville, Illinois, to take on Lewis University. USI will return home Tuesday, October 14, when it takes on Kentucky Wesleyan College. Both matches are slated for 7 p.m.
Brescia falls to 13-13 with the loss.
