The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team was defeated by Quincy University, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Physical Activities Center in Evansville, Indiana. The Screaming Eagles, which fall to 13-5 overall and 3-3 in the GLVC, lost the games 30-27, 30-25, and 30-27.
As a team, the Eagles hit just .151 as they lost their second consecutive home match for the first time since 1999.
Freshman outside hitter
Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) recorded a match-high 15 kills to lead the Eagles offensively. Sophomore middle hitter
Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) recorded a match-high eight blocks and senior outside hitter
Ashley Riordan (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) recorded 14 digs to lead USI defensively.
The Eagles will return to action this Monday, October 6, when they host Brescia University in a 7 p.m. match at the PAC. Quincy improves to 13-5 overall and 5-1 in the GLVC with the victory.
