The 20th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team could not overcome a 2-0 second half deficit, falling 2-1 to 13th-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois, Friday night. USI falls to 8-5-0 overall and 7-1-0 in the GLVC, while SIUE is 12-2-0 overall and 7-0-0 GLVC.
After a scoreless first half, SIUE got on the board with a pair of goals by senior midfielder Cal Thomas. Thomas got the first goal with 15:51 to play and the second with 7:51 left to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead.

Neil Peluchette (Evansville, Indiana) cut the lead in half on a goal with 3:46 to play, but time ran out on Eagles. Peluchette's goal was his fourth of the year and was assisted on the play by senior midfielder
Duncan Bray (Scotland).
The Eagles will try to get back on track Sunday, October 19, when they travel to Quincy University for a 2:30 p.m. match. USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field next week when it hosts Rockhurst University Wednesday, October 25.
