University of Southern Indiana women's soccer fell 3-1 to number one ranked Northern Kentucky University Friday night on the road. USI falls to 4-3-0 overall, 0-1-0 GLVC, while NKU is a perfect 7-0 overall, 1-0-0 GLVC.
The Norse got on the board first and led at halftime, 1-0, before USI tied it up in the second half on a goal by freshman forward
Brooklyn Gant (Evansville, Indiana). The goal, at 53:42, was Gant's first as a collegiate and came off a pass by sophomore midfielder
Courtney Reeder (Carbondale, Illinois).
NKU got the game winner at 65:73 and iced the game with its third goal at 88:32 for the final score of 3-1.
The next action for the Eagles will be Sunday, September 22, at Bellarmine University for a 1:30 p.m. match. USI will play its first GLVC match of the year at Strassweg Field Friday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m. against Kentucky Wesleyan College.
