USI’s luck doesn’t change at OCU

Univ. of Southern Indiana (14-21): 3
@Oakland City University (12-12): 4

The University of Southern Indiana baseball team's string of luck continued at Oakland City University on Thursday, falling to 4-3. USI, which has lost its last six, falls to 14-21, while OCU, who has won six straight against GLVC teams, goes to 12-12.

The Eagles, who used a collection of pitchers on Thursday, fell behind in the third as the Mighty Oaks scored three times to take a 3-0 lead. OCU extended the lead to 4-0 with a run in the fifth.

USI tried to come back scoring three runs in the top of the eighth. Junior rightfielder Steve Owen (Wauwatosa, Wisconsin) had the big bat in the innings, driving in two runs with a bases-loaded single.

Great Lakes Valley Conference action will resume for the Eagles on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, at Northern Kentucky University. The Eagles and the Norse are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday. The first pitch, both days, will be thrown at 11 a.m. (CT).
