MURRAY, Ky. -- The University of Southern Indiana baseball team saw its three-game winning streak halted on the road by the Racers of Murray State University, 11-2, Wednesday afternoon. USI falls to 7-9 overall, while MSU goes to 4-9 in the 2002 campaign.
Junior left-fielder 
Andy Nucci (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with three hits in four plate appearances, scoring both the USI runs. USI junior shortstop 
Josh Perkins (Lafayette, Indiana) joined Nucci with multiple hits, going two-for-three with a double and a RBI.
On the mound, senior right-hander 
Steve Arnold (Evansville, Indiana) took the loss for the Eagles, allowing six earned runs in 3 1/3 innings of work. Arnold falls to 1-3 this spring.
USI will open Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, with a three-game series against Quincy University. Start time both days is noon. The USI-Quincy match-up also marks the use of wood bats during the GLVC schedule.
The Eagles will finish the four-game homestand on Tuesday, March 19, when they host Indiana University-Southeast in a 2 p.m. solo game.
