The University of Southern Indiana men and women's indoor track and field teams ran yesterday at the 2002 USA Open, hosted by Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The Screaming Eagles performed had runners place in the top five in the women's 800 meter and 1,600 meter runs as well as the men's 3,000-meter run.

Junior distance runner Jenny Farmer (Princeton, Indiana) finished third in the 1,600 meters and fifth in the 800 meters for the women's squad while sophomore distance runner Joey Byrne (Georgetown, Kentucky) finished third in the 3,000 meters.

The Eagles will travel to Romeoville, Illinois Saturday, February 23, to take part in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships. The meet is hosted by Lewis University and will last all day.
