Shannon Wells (Merrillville, Indiana) and freshman middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) combined for 29 kills to lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Bellarmine University this afternoon at the Physical Activities Center.
Wells racked up a match-high 17 kills and moved into fourth all-time among USI attackers with 1,025 career kills. Gross tallied 12 kills and a .375 attacking percentage.
USI, which moves to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, recorded a .360 attacking percentage while holding Bellarmine to a .142 attacking percentage.

Kristina Kavanaugh (Montgomery, Indiana) recorded a match-high 13 digs while sophomore setter
Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the way with 37 assists.
USI will start the most crucial part of its season as it hits the road for the next month. The Eagles will play five consecutive road matches, all of which are against GLVC competition, and three matches at the Cougar Classic in Edwardsville, Illinois.
USI's first test will be at Lewis University Friday, September 28 and at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday, September 29. Friday's match is scheduled for 7 p.m. while Saturday's match is slated for a 1 p.m. start. USI will return home Saturday, October 20 for its last home match of the season.
