The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team suffered its second Great Lakes Valley Conference setback and its seventh loss of the 2001 season with a 1-3 loss to Lewis University this evening in Romeoville, Illinois.
USI recorded 76 kills and a .335 attacking percentage but was hurt by 14 service errors. The Flyers committed only two service errors and benefited from a .315 attacking percentage and 16 blocks.

Shannon Wells (Merrillville, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with a match-high 28 kills and 15 defensive digs while sophomore setter
Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) tallied a match and season-high 63 assists.

Kristina Kavanaugh (Montgomery, Indiana) and freshman middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) added 19 and 11 kills, respectively. Kavanaugh's 19 kills represented a career high.
The Eagles will resume their road trip tomorrow as they head farther north to take on the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in a 1 p.m. match.
