Junior outside hitter
Shannon Wells (Merrillville, Indiana) recorded 13 kills and became the fifth player in school history to reach 1,000 career kills as the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College, 3-0, this evening at the Physical Activities Center.
The Screaming Eagles dominated the match from beginning to end, compiling 56 kills and a .353 attacking percentage. USI held the Panthers to just 17 kills and an .047 attacking percentage.
Freshman middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) led all attackers with 14 kills and a .462 hitting percentage.
Evansville native
Leah Mercer also had a big night, racking up 13 kills and a match-high 12 digs. Sophomore setter
Kim Boehmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) tallied a match-high 46 assists in the win.
USI will conclude its six-match homestand tomorrow afternoon when it entertains Bellarmine University. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Physical Activities Center.
