The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team dropped to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after loosing to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 3-2, this evening at the Physical Activities Center.
USI lost in games one and three, but dominated the Cougars in games two and four to set up a decisive game five. However, SIUE posted a .714 attacking percentage in game five to pick up the victory.
Junior outside hitter
Shannon Wells (Merrillville, Indiana) posted a match-high 26 kills and tallied 13 digs while Evansville native
Leah Mercer dished in 20 kills and 13 digs. Freshman
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) added to the Eagle attack with 13 kills and 14 digs.
The Eagles will be back in action Friday, September 21 when they entertain Kentucky Wesleyan College. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Physical Activities Center.
