The 10th ranked University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team won its 18th straight at the Physical Activities Center with an 87-62 victory over Grace College Saturday night. USI raises its record 8-3 overall, while Grace falls to 5-10.
USI led by 12 point at the end of the first half, 38-26, due to an early 15-5 run. The Eagles blew the game open with a 10-0 run in the first two minutes of the second half and increased the lead to as many as 27 points (70-43) with 7:25 to play.
Sophomore forward
Jessica Stuckman (Quincy, Illinois) continued her torrid scoring pace with 26 points to lead the Eagles. The 20-plus scoring night was Stuckman's seventh of the season. Junior forward
Africa Sherrod (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) followed Stuckman with 18 points and a team-high 10 rebounds to post her first double-double of the season.
The next action for the Eagles will be an NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional match-up when 14th ranked Northern Michigan University comes to Evansville on Tuesday, December 18. Game time is 5:15 p.m.
