USI used a 7-0 run to bring it within a point at 57-56. However, after a Quincy timeout, the Lady Hawks put together a 9-0 run to give them a 66-56 lead with eight minutes to go in the contest.

The Eagles cut the Quincy lead to six on two separate occasions, but could not get any closer as they fell to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

For the game, USI shot 42.9 percent from the floor and 69.6 percent from the line. USI's performance from three-point land was dismal as the Eagles were two-of-13 for 15.4 percent from behind the arc.

Quincy's Lisa Farrell led all scorers with 27 points while Jill Unnerstall followed with 23 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
