Junior outside hitter
Shannon Wells (Merrillville, Indiana) exploded for a match-high 22 kills to lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Saint Joseph's College this afternoon at the Physical Activities Center. Wells recorded a .413 attacking percentage in the process.
The Screaming Eagles recorded a .367 attacking percentage in game one and a .375 attacking percentage in game three as they raised there record to 17-8 overall and 8-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Junior outside hitter
Kristina Kavanaugh (Montgomery, Indiana) dished in 10 kills and 18 digs while freshman middle blocker
Leeanne Gross (Decatur, Indiana) added six kills and a match-high 19 digs. Senior middle blocker
Leah Mercer (Evansville, Indiana) contributed six kills and nine digs in her final regular season home match of her career.
The Eagles, which concluded their regular season home schedule with a 6-1 record, will be on the road for the remainder of the regular season. USI will travel to Bellarmine University Friday, October 26 and to Kentucky Wesleyan College Saturday, October 27 before closing its regular season at the University of Indianapolis and Northern Kentucky University.
