Skylar Brant ’21 returned to the USI Women’s Soccer program as a graduate assistant on the coaching staff. Brant was a goalkeeper for the Screaming Eagles under Head Coach Eric Schoenstein from 2017-20. Brant also earned multiple Academic All-GLVC honors during her USI career.
Brant was a member of the Screaming Eagles’ 2018 GLVC regular-season championship squad and the 2019 GLVC Tournament championship team that made an appearance in the NCAA II Midwest Regional.
In Brant's first season as a graduate assistant in 2025, the Screaming Eagles had their best season of the Division-I era. The team recorded nine overall wins and 14 total results, the most for USI since moving up to Division I in 2022. USI also made history in 2025 with its first-ever OVC Tournament wins and deepest run since joining the conference with a semifinal appearance. The team also set new D-I highs for the program in 2025 with 27 goals scored and 10 shutouts defensively.
Brant graduated from USI with a bachelor's degree in nursing in 2021 and currently works as a cardiac nurse while working towards a master's degree in nursing. The Plymouth, Michigan, native attended Salem High School before coming to USI.
