John Smith joined USI as an assistant director of Athletic Communications in 2024. Smith will assist in the production of USI’s ESPN+ broadcasts, creation of Screaming Eagles Arena audio/visual content, and other creative services needed for Athletics and Screaming Eagles Arena.
A 2024 graduate from the University of Evansville with a bachelor’s degree in sports communications, Smith joins the USI Athletic Communications team with a wide range of experience. He worked with Purple Aces Productions as an undergraduate, in addition to being a production assistant at WEHT/WTVW, a broadcast production intern with the Evansville Otters, and replay operator for horse racing at Ellis Park.
Smith is a native of Westview, Kentucky, and resides in Evansville, Indiana with his wife, Autumn.
