Carly Dean joined the USI Women’s Soccer coaching staff in March 2026, assisting with goalkeeper training, recruiting, and other program operations.
Before coming to USI, Dean served as the acting head coach at St. Bonaventure University during the early part of the winter and spring of 2026, leading all facets of the program. During the 2025 season as an assistant coach, Dean worked with the goalkeepers and handled many administrative responsibilities within the program, including daily operations, travel, community service initiatives, and fundraising.
Dean was also previously an assistant at Wittenberg University in the spring of 2025.
Prior to Wittenberg, Dean spent time with Lexington Sporting Club (Kentucky) from 2022 to 2025, where she helped develop the goalkeeping training environment. She worked directly with the Director of Youth Goalkeeping, USL League One, and Super League goalkeepers to prepare and inspire players to reach their highest potential.
Dean, who has also coached in high school and camp settings, holds a USC Advanced National Goalkeeping diploma, a USSF National D Coaching License, and is currently working toward a USSF C License.
As a player, Dean began her collegiate career at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette before playing her final three seasons at Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to college, Dean played and graduated from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Dean, who is from Sidney, Ohio, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in sports management and in 2024 with a master’s degree in exercise and sport science.
