Cheneta Robinson

Cheneta Robinson begins her second season as an assistant coach with USI Volleyball after being hired in March of 2022. Robinson will assist Head Coach Jeffrey Aucoin with all aspects of the Screaming Eagles' program.
 
Robinson comes to USI from NCAA Division III Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, where she has served as the Golden Eagles’ Head Coach since 2018.
 
Under Robinson’s guidance, Spalding reached back-to-back St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournaments, including a berth in the semifinals in 2021.
 
Robinson, a two-time AVCA All-American at the University of Indianapolis, received the Diversity Award from the AVCA in 2019 and has coordinated Spalding’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during her time with the Golden Eagles.
 
Prior to Spalding, Robinson was the top assistant at the University of Evansville, where she assisted in coaching, recruiting and academic planning. On the court, Robinson helped recruit and develop multiple All-Missouri Valley Conference selections. In the classroom, the Purple Aces achieved the AVCA Team Academic Award in 2016-17 for achieving a 3.3 team GPA, with 50 percent of players making the dean’s list and a 100 percent graduation rate.
 
Robinson began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she was under the tutelage of former UIndy Head Coach Jody Rogers. In her time at VCU, Robinson assisted in recruiting, practice and individual training, video analysis, travel and operations.
 
A member of four NCAA II Tournament teams at UIndy as well as the 2009 NCAA II Midwest Region championship squad, Robinson earned bachelor’s degree in criminal justice (2011) and human biology (2014) from UIndy as well as a master’s degree in sports leadership in 2015 from VCU.
 
Robinson and her husband, Justin, have a daughter, Jaley.
