Krista Loewen is in her eighth year as an assistant coach for the USI women's tennis team. Loewen was a three-sport student athlete at USI while working toward a bachelor's degree in art.

Loewen joined the USI coaching staff after teaching tennis with Coach Porter at a local country club. She also has taught tennis through group and private lessons since high school.

Following graduation from USI, Loewen worked in the advertising world as a graphic artist and art director. She has been the owner and creative director of backSlash advertising design since 2002.

At USI, Loewen played number three singles and split time between number one and two doubles as a senior. She played tennis from 1993 through 1996; softball from 1994 to 1995; and golf in 1997.
