Biography

Career: Finished her career ranked first all-time at USI in free throw percentage (.828); fourth all-time at USI in made three-pointers (148), three-pointers attempted (370), and assists (329); fifth all-time in made free throws (328); sixth all-time in free throws attempted (396) and scoring (1,336); and eighth in steals (164)...was just the second player in the program's history to reach both the 1,000-point and 300-assist plateau in a career...started every game at point guard during her four-year career at USI and was a four-time Academic All-GLVC honoree.

2010-11: Earned second-team All-GLVC honors after averaging a career-high 14.3 points per game...also chipped in 2.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest...scored a career-high 39 points in USI's triple overtime loss to Indianapolis...the 39 points were the most by a USI player since LeAnn Freeland scored 39 points against IPFW during the 1996-97 season...was named the GLVC Player of the Week twice, the first time after she scored 39 points against Indianapolis and the second coming a week later when she averaged 22.5 points in USI's wins over Lewis and Wisconsin-Parkside...scored in double-figures 22 times and had at least four games with at least 20 points and one game with 30 points...finished the year ranked second in the GLVC in free throw percentage and was sixth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage...also was 13th in the GLVC in scoring and made three-pointers per game (1.74)...was 38th in the nation in free throw percentage...recorded a season-high five rebounds three times and dished out a season-best seven assists twice...had a career-high six steals in USI's win over Minnesota State-Moorhead...earned Academic All-GLVC honors for the fourth consecutive year.

2009-10: Earned third-team All-GLVC honors after averaging 11.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per contest...started every game at point guard for the Eagles for the third consecutive season...scored a career-high 30 points in USI's upset victory over No. 2 Indianapolis...reached the 20-point plateau twice and scored in double-figures 19 times, raising her career total to 51 games...matched a career-high with seven rebounds against Illinois-Springfield...also matched a career-high with eight assists on two occasions...had a season-high four steals twice...scored 18 points in USI's overtime win over Rockhurst, including five points in the final 13 seconds of regulation to force overtime...finished the season ranked in five GLVC statistical categories including free throw percentage (3rd), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.79/4th), minutes played per game (6th), assists per game (13th), and scoring (22nd)...also ranked 13th in the nation in free throw percentage...earned All-Tournament honors at the Disney Division II Tip-Off West Coast Classic and at the Bellarmine Thanksgiving Classic...earned Academic All-GLVC honors for the third straight season.

2008-09: Earned Academic All-GLVC honors for the second straight season after averaging 11.8 points and 3.0 assists per contest...was second on the team and 17th in the GLVC in scoring...ranked in four GLVC statistical categories including scoring, three-point field goal percentage (.414/9th), free throw percentage (.789/12th), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.08/15th)...started all 27 games at the point guard position for the Eagles, marking the second straight year she has started every game...scored a career-high 21 points against Missouri S&T and pulled down a career-high tying seven rebounds against Hillsdale...also had a career-best eight assists against Lake Erie and a season-high four steals against Lewis...scored in double figures a team-high 19 times.

2007-08: Earned Academic All-GLVC honors after ranking in the top 15 of three GLVC statistical categories as a freshman, including steals (12th), three-point field goal percentage (15th), and minutes played (15th)...started all 27 games and led USI with 843 minutes of action...was second on the team with 9.8 points per game...led USI with 1.7 steals and 2.6 assists per game...had a season-high 18 points against Tiffin and followed that game with a season-best seven assists against Mt. Olive the next night...averaged 3.2 rebounds per contest, racking up a season-best seven boards against Bellarmine...also had a season-high five steals against Wisconsin-Parkside.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Clinton Prairie High School (Frankfort, Indiana) where she earned varsity letters in basketball, volleyball, and track...was 12th in the state of Indiana in scoring as a senior in 2006-07, averaging 21.8 points per game...also was invited to Hoosier Basketball Magazine's 2007 Top 40 Senior Workout following senior season...was a four-time All-Conference and three-time All-County performer in basketball...was a Top 100 Senior...played in the Dave Sanders All-Star Game and the East-West All-Star Game...finished basketball career with 1,329 points...averaged 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.7 steals while shooting 51.5 percent from the field as a senior...averaged 18 points per game as a junior in 2005-06...was a member of the 2004 and 2005 sectional championship teams at CPHS...was CPHS's captain and most valuable player in basketball and volleyball...earned All-Conference and All-County honors in volleyball...was selected to play in the North-South All-Star Game in volleyball...also was a multiple-time All-Conference and All-County performer on the track...competed in the 400-meter relay and the high jump as a senior...was a regional qualifier in the 400-meter relay and earned CPHS's Top Sprinter Award.

PERSONAL: Born July 17, 1988...daughter of Dean and Eugenia Newhart.
