Ryan Bertram '16 makes the transition from player to graduate assistant coach in 2017. Bertram will assist Head Coach Tracy Archuleta in all facets of the program.
As a player, Bertram helped lead the Screaming Eagles to the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship, the 2014 and 2016 NCAA II Midwest Regional crowns, and a pair of GLVC East Division titles. He earned a 2014 Daktronics All-Midwest Region honor, three All-GLVC East Division awards, Midwest Regional All-Tournament recoginition, and a Midwest Region Player of the Week award during his career at USI.
Bertram, statistically, finished his USI career ranked 11th in slugging percentage (.454); 16th in total bases (218); 23rd in games played (154); tied for 14th in doubles (35); tied for 16th in RBIs (104); and 31st in career batting average (.329). He batted a four-year high .350 with a career-best seven home runs and 48 RBIs in 2016.
